Francis Brewer of St Ervan yeoman
M, b. say 1560
Francis Brewer of St Ervan yeoman was born say 1560 at St Ervan, Cornwall, England. He signed a Land Contract on 1 February 1607 at St Ervan, Cornwall, England, Francis of St Ervan, yeoman, signed a lease jointly wih Margaret Brewer of Plymouth, Devon for 75 years on the life of Richard Brewer of St Ervan to the third part of Chapple Park which had ben bequeathed by John Browne, husband of Margaret Brewer.
This was not the property which was the subject of a dispute between Stephen Brewer of St Wenn and Martin Withell in 1721.1 It has not been possible to confirm the links to the next generations of the Brewer family, but by 27 October 1673, Chapple Close and Chapple House appear to have been inherited by the Francis Brewer who had children Richard, John and Elizabeth.
In 1694 the property was passed on to Samson and Richard Brewer by their father Francis Brewer deceased. In 1706 the lease was assigned to a Francis Brewer of St Ervan, Gentleman. It appears that there may have been a Francis Brewer gentleman and a Francis Brewer yeoman both living in St Ervan at this time.1 He died.
