     Selena was born say 1838. Selena was probably Selena Cossentine, the sister of Melinda Cossentine, Uriah's second wife. An actual marriage has not been found and they may have simply lived together, but research may show that they were married in Sth Africa following the death of Melinda. Such marriages to a deceased wife's sister were illegal from 1835 until the passing of the Marriage (Prohibited Degrees of Relationship) Acts, 1907 and 1921, that is the Deceased Wife's Sister Marriage Act, 1907 and the Deceased Brother's Widow's Marriage Act, 1921. However many couples ignored the law, and many clergy overlooked it. In fact there were petitions from clergymen who implored that a Bill might be passed, since many of their parishioners had already married their sisters-in-law, under the belief that this was the best thing for the children. However as late as 1949 a Marriage Act was passed that, among other provisions, prohibited marriage between a man and his divorced wife's sister.¹ She appeared on the census of 1901 at 656 Romford Road. Thomas Withiell lived in 1661 at Padstow, Cornwall, England; He occupied a property of 17 acres in the hamlet of St Cadocke for which he paid rent of 5 pounds 5 shillings p to 7 pounds.² Thomas died Wythell in Transcript before 19 February 1684 at St Merryn, Cornwall, England.³

     Edward was born. Edward was employed at as a Sailor in 1837.¹ He married Anne Withell on 16 September 1837 at Padstow, Cornwall, England. The entry made by vicar used the spelling Withiel, whereas Anne signed her name as Withell. Paul is listed as Panth in one transcription..Age on P Reg for Anne is stated as 28 and her father was Roger Withiel, shipwright.¹ Edward died .

     Albert died . Albert was born on 19 January 1878 at Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales.¹

     Thomas was born. He married Harriet (?) Hicks. Thomas died before 1871.¹
