Simon Withiel was born before 1350. Simon was granted licence to study in theology or canon law at Oxford till Mich. next 31 December 1354. Following his graduation he had a distinguished career and was to hold several appointments in Cornwall.
In 1354 he was appointed as a subdeacon as Rector of Withiel, a position he held until 1366.
At the conclusion of his appointment as parson of the church of Wythiel, a ratification of his estate was documented at Westminster on 15 May 1366.1 Simon Wythiel died before October 1376.
