     Thomas Martin was born say 1600. A lease for 99 years with counterpart for a tenement and land in Crugmere (the Gudder and Plaisrerdore?) was made from James Warren and Christopher Warren both yeomen of Crowan to Thomas Marten of Padstow, 'vitlour". The consideration was 22 pounds with rent of 26s. 8d..¹ He left a will on 8 July 1657 at Padstow, Cornwall, England,[ He made his wife Elizabeth and eldest son Thomas the executors and residual legatees of his will. His second son Samuel was to receive money, furniture and some small parcels of land at Crugmere, the Gudder,Trethillick and Padstow which were to be held by the exec]utors until five years after his death. Each of his three surviving daughters received were given legacies as was his sister Elizabeth Christopher and some members of the Rouncevall family.² He died before 1 July 1658. His estate was probated on 1 July 1658 at London, England.
