There were marriages for a William Dymock in 1745 and in 1753 but there was also a burial for a William in 1748. This is most likely the William lately deceased who was mentioned in the will of William Dymock made in 1754 who was baptised in 1713. This suggests that they were not the same person. William was born say 1725. The BT's for Stoney Stanton were difficult to read and I have not found a baptism for this William. It is likely there were two Williams in Stoney Stanton. Needs a further search for earlier wills of other than William (d.1757). William was employed as a woolcomber at Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire, England, before 1773.1 He made a will on 1 March 1773 at Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire, England, He bequeathed all messuages, cottages or tenements with an orchard, homestead, yard and barkside thereto belonging and adjoining Situate & Standing and being in Stoney Stanton aforesaid with the Appurtenances as well as some recent purchases to be sold and disposed of by his administrators. The residue following payment of debts was to be invested and the interest paid to his wife so long as she remained his widow. Following her death or remarriage, the principal and interest was to be shared between her their three children, Samuel, Jane and Elizabeth.. A census listed Joseph as head of household on 3 April 1881 Main Street at Barwell, Leicestershire, England. His occupation was farmer. His wife Sarah age 61 and son Joseph age 19 were living with him. I have entered this census for Joseph but the age of 58 on the census would not be correct. He was living next door to a John so perhaps the first Joseph died and a new son was given the name>.1

Robert Sperry

M, b. say 1598, d. 16 September 1663
FatherJacob Sperry the Elder b. c 1567, d. 10 Feb 1647
. Robert Sperry may have been a son or a nephew of Jacob the elder. However I have placed him as a son and estimated his birth as circa 1598.. Robert Sperry and his wife Alice lived in the parish of Heather although the only record of them in the parish register is the baptisms of several of their children. The eldest son Henry was born sometime before 1640 and in the following seventeen years, Thomas, Jacob, Ann, William, Robert and Alice were born. Three of the boys were not mentioned in Robert's will, suggesting that they had predeceased their father. The baptism entries for the children describe Robert as a labourer but his will gives his occupation as a victualler. Nevertheless he was a man of means both as a victualler and a property owner and it is likely that he was the licensee for an inn or public house at Heather. There is no surviving record of victualler’s licences before 1760, but research of the victualler's records from 1760 to 1830 revealed an ongoing involvement of Sperry licensees in Heather as well as in Hinckley and Bagworth.
.
Robert made a deathbed will on 14 September 1663 which he and the two witnesses signed with a mark. His brothers William Sperry of Ashby de la Zouche and Edward Sperry of Swannington were given full power and authority to ascertain that the terms of the will were carried out. Because Jacob had predeceased the making of the will by about three years, he was not named and any possible relationship between them was not mentioned. The two brothers who were named did not liv e in Heather which would explain the use of Bartholomew - possibly his nephew - as a witness. Robert also did not mention three of his sons, Thomas, Jacob and William in the will which could indicate they had also predeceased their father.     Robert bequeathed his mansion house, the goods therein and the garden and all other appurtenances to his wife Alice for the term of her natural life, and following her decease to his son Henry. Henry was to give his three younger siblings, An, Robert and Alice the sum of six pounds apeice if they accomplished the age of twentyone years. The reference to an older son and the three younger children suggests that Alice may have been younger than Robert and in fact may have been a second wife; In the name of God Amen, I Robert Sperry of Heather in the county of Leicester being sick in body but of good and perfect memory, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following
Imprimus I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of allmighty god my creator trusting through faith in Jesus Christ my Saviour to obtain everlasting salvation, and my body to be buried in christian burial all at the discretion of my executrix.
Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Alice Sperry the mansion house wherein I now dwell with the household (goods) there in during ye terme of her naturall life, together with the garden (?) and all (other) the appurtenances throughout belonging, & after the decease of my said wife I give the aforesaid house goods all other appurtenances unto my son Henry Sperry his heirs and assigns forever, guided allway & it is my will that the said Henry Sperry his heirs executors & assignees shall pay eighteen pounds of lawfull money of England unto my three younger children within six months after the decease of my said wife Alice Sperry in manner as followeth that is to say unto my daughter An Sperry six pounds and to my son Robert Sperry the like sum of six pounds and to my daughter Alice Sperry six pounds of like lawfull money of England. It is my will that in case my said wife shall live untill my said younger children or any of them shall attain to the age of one and twenty years that then my said son Henry Sperry shall pay to them or as many of them as shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years during her life (?) find all sums of six pounds apeice & shall by them be acquitted of the sais sum of six pounds (?) (?) many of my younger children as shall (so?) have received     And (?) (?) all (sums) as in case that the said Henry Sperry his heirs or assigns shall refuse or neglect to pay this sum of eighteen pounds to my younger children according to the terms afore mentioned I do hereby constitute and appoint and by these (?) do hereby give full power and authority to my brother William Sperry of Ashby de la Zouche labourer, and my brother Edward Sperry of Swannington in the County of Leicester and to their heirs and assigns to make sale of my said house and (?) the appurtenances for the payment of the afore(said) legacies of six pounds a peice to my younger children as aforesaid & the (?) thereof to give to my son Henry Sperry.
Item I do further give to my daughter An Sperry my (?)bedstead, and to my daughter Alice my wainscote cupboard, all the rest of my goods & chattells unbequeathed I give to my wife Alice Sperry, and I do hereby make her my sole executorix of this my last testament in witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & sign this fourteenth day of September ano dom 1663
